Located on increasingly diverse South Grand Boulevard, King and I has been torching tongues with its spicy curries, noodles and Thai specialties since 1991. The pad thai, simmered in a fermented fish sauce, is a delicious variation on the traditional dish. Other entrées include the Forrest Gump –not surprisingly a shrimp dish – and cross-cultural experiments such as Thai fajitas and Thai ravioli. To douse the fire and regain articulation, order an exotic cocktail such as the Fog Cutter (pineapple juice, rum and brandy) or the Siam Stinker (rum, gin and fruit juice). Full bar.
