Relocated in 2006 to suburban Tukwila, Bai Tong Thai restaurant remains one of the oldest and most popular Thai eateries in the Seattle area. Bai Tong serves reliably good, traditional Thai fare such as curries, noodle dishes and soups. Begin with appetizers such as satay, tod mun pla (deep-fried fish cake with cucumber salad) and crab wontons. Winning entrées include salmon curry, pineapple fried rice and the Bai-Tong Special (steamed rice topped with sautéed chicken, bamboo shoots and Chinese sausage in brown sauce). Noodle dishes include phad thai goong (pan-fried noodles with chicken, beef or shrimp, egg, nuts, bean curd and sprouts) and rard nah (fried rice noodle with choice of meat, broccoli and soy sauce). Meatless choices such as pra ram jay (spinach with peanut sauce) and phad prik jay (stir-fried tofu with vegetables and green pepper) round out the extensive menu. Full bar. Serving lunch Mon–Fri, dinner nightly. Closed between meals.
