Located in Stockyards City since 1910, Cattlemen's is the oldest continuously running restaurant in Oklahoma City. Like many great restaurants across the country – well ... maybe not – Cattlemen's was won in a dice game when the late Gene Wade rolled a "hard six" to acquire the restaurant in 1945. Signature dishes such as the juicy T-bone steak or lamb fries, i.e., lamb testicles (impress your friends with your ruggedness), have attracted not only locals through the years but celebrities such as Gene Autry, John Wayne and country star Reba McEntire. Other recommended menu items include the rib eye or filet mignon, fried catfish, and ham steak with red-eye gravy. Full bar. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, late-night Fri–Sat. Named Best Steakhouse, Best Restaurant To Take Out-of-Towners and Best Restaurant on the Southside in the 2009 Oklahoma Gazette readers' poll.
