Celebrity chef, celebrated cookbook author and successful restaurateur Emeril Lagasse has scored another hit with his second Orlando venture, Emeril's Tchoup Chop (pronounced "chop-chop"). Named for his flagship eatery's home on Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans, Tchoup Chop's lush gardens, granite accents and a central lily pond are an appropriate setting for the banner restaurant of the exotic Royal Pacific Resort. In menu as well, Emeril departs from his much-acclaimed bayou fare for the flavors of the Pacific seas, giving a passing nod to both Asia and Europe while maintaining his signature bold flavors. The extensive cocktail menu provides a telling preview of what's to come: The Bloody Mary, for example, features trimmings such as wasabi, soy sauce and sake for an unusual Polynesian twist. The duck breast with spicy basil sauce makes a deliciously filling main course. Ditto entrée favorites such as Yellowfin tuna steak. Top it all off with one of Emeril's famed desserts – banana cream pie with caramel sauce and chocolate shavings, for example – and you'll gain new appreciation for the chef's "Bam!" factor.
Dress is business casual; no sleeveless shirts for gentlemen. Reservations suggested. Full bar. Serving dinner nightly.
