Although Orlando boasts no shortage of upscale Italian eateries, locals know to journey just north of town to Maitland for one of the area's best. Antonio's Ristorante, overlooking Lake Lily, maintains its homespun feel by avoiding expected American-Italian restaurant staples – you'll find no strolling accordion-playing crooners here. Antonnio's offers what one of Bon Appétit magazine's critics called "one of the best meals [he's] ever had." Lunch-goers frequent the downstairs deli-style café for its exceptional gourmet pizzas, calzones and Italian sandwiches, as well as the specialty gift shop carrying luxury gifts and more than 600 wines from around the world. Upstairs, Antonio's La Fiamma is a full-service restaurant serving high-end Italian entrées. Along with your selection from the extensive wine list, indulge with fresh pasta dishes and Sicilian specialties. Observe the open kitchen as the chefs prepare wood-grilled seafood and meats. Missing the deliciously decadent tiramisu for dessert is akin to skipping the Sistine Chapel on a trip to Rome.

La Fiamma:

Reservations suggested. Full bar. Kids menu. Serving lunch Mon–Fri, dinner Mon–Sat. Closed Sun and between meals.
