Veteran hardcore Nashville foodies followed influential restaurateur Randy Rayburn through several different eateries until he finally opened his own place, Sunset Grill, in 1990 in the Hillsboro Village neighborhood. With its affordable and consistent fine dining, outstanding service and casual atmosphere – it's the place for a jeans-and-jacket Music Row power lunch or dinner – there is no better restaurant in Nashville. Talented, longtime executive chef Brian Uhl, with his adept feel for Southern touches, oversees the extremely creative seasonal menus that generally feature several seafood dishes and interesting meat choices. The late-night menu (until midnight Mon–Thu, 1:30 am Fri–Sat) is as extensive and as expertly prepared as any in town, as is the dessert list. Full bar. Serving lunch Tue–Fri, dinner nightly.
