When I select "Near Me", I get a message that says "0 Great Restaurants."
Honestly, that message is probably wrong. The truth is we don't know about the great restaurants near your current location. Yet. We're working on it. Right now we can only guarantee that the "Near Me" option will work when you are in or near one of our 50 cities.
My city isn't on your list. I know there are great restaurants here. When will my city be added?
Soon. We hope. Our goal is to cover the entire U.S. We are adding cities as fast as we can, but we admit we have a long way to go. We believe our selection process and the quality of the information we provide is what sets us apart from our competitors. Adding a city means not only identifying the best restaurants in that city but also then keeping up with its constantly changing dining scene. But maybe you can help. Tell us about the great places to eat in your town. Your information may give us head start that will get your city added sooner.
Why isn't the comment I submitted via LocalEats showing up?
Our editors moderate all comments. Most likely your comment simply hasn't been approved yet. Hang in there. If your comment is relevent and thoughtful, it will get posted, and we do post the vast majority of the comments we receive. Of course we do not post comments that contain inappropriate language or that are patently abusive.

I've got a great idea for a feature I'd like to see added to LocalEats. How do I make it happen?
Stop wasting time on our FAQ page and tell us about it! We can't think of everything, and we pride ourselves on being responsive to our users. We have already incorporated several user suggestions into LocalEats. If you've got a good idea and we can figure out how to make it work, we'll use it. So email your idea to feedback@magellanpress.com.

Why can't I get LocalEats to start?
We don't like to pass the buck, but most likely the problem isn't with LocalEats. Generally this issue has something to do with iTunes or your iPhone configuration. To fix the problem try the procedures outlined on Apple's App Store application troubleshooting page.

I tried all the stuff suggested on Apple's App Store application troubleshooting page, and your %@#* app still doesn't work! What am I supposed to do now?
Sorry. Again, this probably isn't a problem with LocalEats. We are aware of a few cases in which iPhones were not properly authorized at the time of purchase. In these cases users have been unable to install and launch applications. Apple has extensive support services available. To get started, visit their Support Contact page.

I was trying to use LocalEats, and I got this message: "Sorry, seems you caught us updating our servers. We will be back up in a bit. Try again later." What's up with that?
We're really sorry you had to see that, but it is the truth. We are a growing company. We are constantly in the process of improving WhereTheLocalsEat.com and the LocalEats app. Whenever possible we try to make our updates painless by performing them quickly at low-traffic times of the day, but if you've seen this message, then you know that we don't always get it right.

LocalEats is telling me, "No internet connection available. Check your network settings and try again." What can I do?
Check to make sure you have a WiFi connection or a 3G or Edge network connection and make sure your iPhone is not in Airplane Mode. If you have a connection, then somewhere between your phone and our servers some sad piece of hardware has failed to pass on a happy little data packet. When you're connecting to the Internet wirelessly, it's not uncommon for little bits of information to get lost now and again. This is especially true in areas where you don't have access to a good quality signal. If you are seeing this message frequently, make sure you are using the highest-quality available network service (WiFi, 3G or Edge), or, if possible, go to an area where you can get better network service.

When I use the "Near Me" feature, LocalEats thinks I'm in a completely different city. What's going on?
LocalEats is probably getting bad information from your iPhone, which is probably getting bad information from the network. To check, launch the built in Maps application. It is probably just as confused as LocalEats. To solve the problem, try switching your network service from 3G to Edge or the other way around or try using a WiFi connection.

Why did LocalEats crash when I tried to take a restaurant photo?
Unfortunately, taking a photo within LocalEats can use a lot of the iPhone's memory capacity—sometimes more than the iPhone can spare. In such cases, the iPhone will shut down LocalEats to save itself. We understand it's an annoyance, and we're working on a way to deal with the issue more gracefully. Until then, know that the problem shouldn't harm your iPhone or any of the data on it. Please re-launch LocalEats and try to take the picture again. We really value your photos. They sometimes can tell other LocalEats users more about a restaurant than all the descriptive copy we can write. As the saying goes, a pictures worth a thousand words. So keep 'em coming.
