With five locations in the Memphis area, Bogie's Delicatessen has the city's lunch market covered, as they prove in local "Best of Memphis" polls year after year. Whether downtown, in Midtown, or out in the suburbs, the atmosphere at this local chain is strictly casual, and the quality of the sandwiches – thanks to the Boar's Head meat and cheese selection – is top-notch. Choose from standard fare such as chicken salad, club and Ruben sandwiches, or go for regional faves such as the muffuletta supreme or the shrimp salad plate. Try their "Best of the Wurst" sandwiches, which include knockwurst, liverwurst and brats, or count your calories with one of the freshly made salads on the menu. Bogie's house-made soup, potato salad and broccoli bacon salad are to die for. Key lime squares and dense, fudgy brownies provide the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Breakfast bagel sandwiches, a hearty variation on morning fast-food fare, are also available, along with meat- and cheese-by-the-pound orders. Call ahead for takeout, or score big with your co-workers by asking Bogie's to cater your next work meeting. Or, if you have time to spare, eat there, and park yourself at one of the outdoor tables, draped in a cheery gingham oilcloth, to watch the world go by. No alcohol available.
