From Jennifer Biggs, The Commercial Appeal, Jan. 23, 2009 (www.GoMemphis.com):
"I would say Bardog is a bar first and a restaurant second. But you might not notice that from the menu, which boasts seared ahi and clams casino among its appetizers and shrimp scampi, surf 'n turf and cioppino as entrees. The ambience is definitely that of a neighborhood bar, a place you'd like to visit again and again."
Admission age 21-and-over, since smoking is allowed upstairs. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily, until late-night Mon–Sat.
"Bardog's signature snack sums up the heart of its menu and ambience: something familiar (fries like McDonald's) updated with something new (bourbon mayonnaise – along with ketchup – served as a dip). A few blocks later, I'm also thinking about the meatballs and sliders passed around Bardog on opening night, when more than 800 people showed up to celebrate. The meatballs (something familiar) were authentic and delicious, and the sliders (something new) were a trendy twist on beef and a bun."
