Mama's Pizza has had its ups and downs. Although it's no longer the 28-location empire that it was in the 1980s, Mama's is more than hanging on with a location in Fort Worth (the original nesting spot in 1969), one in Arlington and one in Mansfield. All three still deliver top-notch pizzas and attract loyal customers from across the state. Fort Worth's modest brick building, only a few minutes away from Texas Wesleyan University, is complemented by the video games inside, where students and families abound. The simple menu offers pizza, sandwiches, salad, and bread or cheese stick sides. The medium crust pizzas come in mini, small, medium, large and the signature Mama's Special, which is a whopping 20 inches, with 16 slices. Choose from a number of toppings: hamburger, breakfast sausage, jalapeños, pepperoni, black olives, green olives, mushrooms, onions, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage and green peppers. Sandwiches include Mama's Sub, which has ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, American cheese, lettuce and tomato; a pepperoni sub; and a grilled cheese. A reasonably priced lunch buffet is offered that includes pizza, a salad and a drink from 11 am–2 pm Mon–Fri. Beer available. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
