With locations popping up across the Lonestar State, Blue Mesa Grill has come to Dallas, much to the delight of locals in search of top-quality Southwestern cuisine in an elegant, casual atmosphere. The ground-level entrance in the Lincoln Park strip discloses none of the splendor to follow. A narrow, ravine-like passageway decorated with river stones directs visitors up the stairs to the huge wooden doors guarding the dining room. Once inside, walls tinted in ochre, yellow and red openly encase stretches of tables buzzing with chatter and the crunch of corn tortilla chips. Blue Mesa's menu boasts a blend of Mexican, New Mexican and South American fare such as: Texas toothpicks (skewered steak, chicken and shrimp served with queso and grilled mesa panna bread); maple-glazed pork chops with oven-roasted chile potatoes and grilled veggies; and Cotija (aka Mexican Parmesan)-crusted red snapper served with ginger rice and roasted vegetables. The real draw, however, is the fixed-price Sunday brunch buffet (10 am–2 pm): a delectable spread of classic breakfast items with Southwestern flair, including mesquite-grilled meats, fresh bean and corn salads, and an omelet bar. Wash down your blue corn cheese enchiladas or heuvos rancheros with unlimited champagne, mimosas, coffee, tea or soft drinks. If tequila's your spirit of choice, Blue Mesa's bar serves top-shelf margaritas or a sampler flight of each month's featured distilleries. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Sun brunch.
