Directly in the shadow of Fenway Park's outfield wall known as the Green Monster, the Cask 'n Flagon remains the gastronomic antidote – er, more like catalyst – for Red Sox fever. This beer-soaked dive has been the quintessential Boston sports bar ever since it opened in 1969 as a neighborhood joint called Oliver's, which hosted now-famous musicians Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen and classic rockers Boston. A recent remodeling added 60 high-definition televisions, spiffier décor and an expanded menu headed by a culinary school grad. The Sox's most diehard fans now enjoy gourmet pub fare to the tune of Sloppy Joe burgers with house-made chili, grilled meat loaf and crab cakes. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
