If you're looking to drown your sorrows, this Fells Point pub has your number – and 10 Irish favorites on tap, from Boddington's to McHenry's, the pale house blend. If you can't make up your mind, try a sampling of five varieties for the price of a pint. But the beer isn't the only comfort on the menu at Slainte – pronounced SLAN-cha, which is Gaelic for "Cheers ... to your health." First, there's Slainte's take on the ubiquitous French onion soup, which starts with a base of Guinness and is topped off with Irish cheddar. For the main course, the kitchen cooks up a sublime shepherd's pie, a classic meat-and-veggies combo topped with garlic-and-cheese mashed potatoes. There's also a chicken variation wrapped in a flaky crust. If you're looking for lighter fare, you can top a crisp Caesar salad with shrimp, salmon or chicken, have a lean corned beef sandwich, or make a selection from the raw bar. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner until late-night daily. Sat–Sun breakfast/brunch beginning 8 am.
