Acclaimed Atlanta chefs/owners Jack Sobel (Agave) and Gregg Herndon (Tiburon Grille) joined forces in early 2006 to open Redfish, which quickly established itself as one of the area's top new restaurants and best Cajun-Creole restaurants. The smartly decorated dining room, strewn with Mardi Gras beads, sets the stage for well-prepared nouveau renditions of classics from this culinary category. Winning starters include crawfish cakes, fried oysters, gumbo, and crawfish and shrimp pâté. Standout entrées include pan-seared redfish, crawfish étouffée, jambalaya, wild salmon soufflé, honey-lacquered duck breast, shrimp and grits, and iron skillet-fried chicken. Try the bread pudding with currants for dessert. Full bar. Reservations suggested. Serving lunch Mon–Fri, dinner nightly. Voted Best Cajun Restaurant in the 2008 Creative Loafing readers' poll.
