Those who frequent downtown Atlanta know that the place to go for chic Asian Fusion cuisine is Pacific Rim Bistro, located on the ground floor of the SunTrust Plaza building. Sunlight bathes bamboo place mats and hardwood floors through the striking glass walls, while soft track lighting illuminates recessed corners with an intimate glow. Owners Anna and Raymond Hsu strive for Asian authenticity, which can be seen through the functional décor as well as in the inspired cuisine. A blend of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Malaysian and other Asian influences, the menu offers starters such as Vietnamese spring rolls and fried tofu skin pockets stuffed with mozzarella, shiitake mushrooms and scallions. For lunch, try the signature Obento Special of the Day, which is a Japanese-style lunch box with assorted items. The live Maine lobster, served two ways, is an excellent choice for dinner, and dessert includes an impressive variety of creative ice cream flavors as well as a giant Fuji apple dipped in caramel and dark chocolate, decorated with white chocolate and pecans. Full bar. Serving lunch Mon–Fri, dinner nightly. Until late-night Fri–Sat. Closed between meals.
